South by Southwest

Just this past week, Bookmans sent me on a trip to the fine city of Austin, Texas for a conference known as South by Southwest. This wonderful event is almost more of a festival of nerddom than any sort of coherent conference. As far as I can tell, this is what gives SXSW its interesting feel, engaging community, and ruckus parties. (more…)

Every once in a while I find a foodstuff that just rocks my world. It’s the kind of thing you sneak up in the middle of the night to grab another taste of. I’ve done this with several different condiments in my life. Most recently is the delicious rice topping known as furikake. (more…)

Soft Paws

Spaz claws my furniture. I’ve woken up to the noises of her shredding the corner of my couch. She even has a favorite spot that she seems to believe exists for no other reason than for her to rip the bloody thing to shreds.
