Dana Severance

My sister and her daughter spent Christmas and the eve before at my house. While I was prepared with packages wrapped, ribbons tied, and bows applied, my sister waited until the very last moment to wrap her presents. A side effect of this was my banishment from the living room for a good two hours.

I’m a very vocal atheist. I disagree with most of what religion has to offer and what it tries to browbeat into people. The sad thing is, in my search for truth and science, I’ve managed to steamroll over one of the best things religion has to offer: traditions.

I’ve been under a lot of stress lately. I’ve been weary with nearly everything. My new job, thankfully, has become a last bastion of normalcy and sanity in a chaotic period. While this helps illustrate how awesome my job is, measures must be taken to ensure sanity. Enter stress relief.

I have recently added a tea set to my gift list for 2009. And, sadly, I can say that this is because there has been another casualty in the Severance house. Tea sets do not live long under my roof, or so it seems.

I’ve been around felines for most of my life. My grandmother was even the crazy cat lady. Now, while I don’t intend to have seven dogs, eighty-seven cats, a rooster, a possum, and a horse, I do own a single kitty.
