One of the reasons I wanted to go with a pet store for a puppy was the warranty that comes with doing business with a large company. I should have known that this was nonsense when you had 24 hours to return the puppy if it didn’t work out. Even then, you lost half of your exorbitant purchase cost. Movies are interesting. They provide us with an escape from reality in a nicely wound little story, if you’re lucky. What’s almost more fascinating than the stories that they choose to tell is how they tell it. Watching a 2005 movie right after a 1968 classic was fascinating in that aspect. I’m a fan of Netflix. I enjoy the concept of being able to have the video store just mail you a DVD instead of going to the nearby Blockbuster. I watched my absent minded mother rack up several hundred dollars in late fees over the course of my childhood. Now, couple this with the ability to stream movies from my home computer, you’ve got a product I’m sold on. (more…)
